In the fourth minute Dominic Poleon picked up a through ball from Michael Tonge and easily beat Tom Morgan in the home goal. On the twenty minute mark, however the keeper was alert to deny a header from Matt Smith, who had been put through by Ross McCormack. But two minutes later the United debutant got his first goal for the club after good work from Dominic Poleon with a close range header and he doubled his tally five minutes later with another header this time from a corner. Michael Brown then hit an upright with a strong shot from thirty yards and Matt Smith almost had his hat-trick on the thirty-six minute mark bit his chip shot bounced back from the crossbar. Noel Hunt only needed five minutes to open his account. After coming on as a substitute at the start of the second half his header beat the home keeper who made a valiant effort to stop it but it was too well-placed. The fifth goal came twelve minutes later when Aidan White burst into the penalty area and scored with a fine left-footed shot. After that Farsley defended well and almost got a consolation goal when Paddy Miller saw his shot go narrowly wide. Luke Murphy played the final quarter of an hour. The crowd was estimated at 2,000.
